PRESS RELEASE – July 24, 2011

ANNOUNCING OUR OFFICIAL MEDIA PARTNER:
INVISIBLE PHOTOGRAPHER ASIA

The Reminders Project Asian Photographers Grant is glad to announce its partnership with the grant’s official media partner – Invisible Photographer Asia.

A leading platform for photography in Asia, Invisible Photographer Asia (IPA) was founded in 2010 as an advocate for street photography and visual journalism in Asia. The IPA website (www.invisiblephotographer.asia), featuring a blog with photography articles and showcase, now serves a rapidly growing community of followers in Asia and beyond.

IPA will be showcasing exclusive interviews with the five finalists selected by the jury panel to showcase their projects. It will also be carrying special coverage about the winning project and photographer, which will be announced in November during the 2011 Angkor Photo Festival.

The winner of the grant will receive financial support of US$3,000, and the awarded project will be shown at the 2012 Angkor Photo Festival.

We are now accepting proposals.

A collaborative project by Yumi Goto of the Reminders Project and the Angkor Photo Festival, the Reminders Project Asian Photographers Grant was launched in 2010. The winner of the grant will be announced at the end of the year during the 2011 Angkor Photo Festival.

The Reminders Project Asian Photographers Grant aims to:

1. Support Asian Photographers

2. Promote in-depth photo projects in Asia
We look for projects that go one step further in discovering and understanding important social issues in Asia that may be under-reported or neglected by the mainstream media.

3. Discover Fresh Perspectives
We encourage projects that approach issues with an original perspective and a unique eye, giving audiences different point of views and fresh information.
