A curious little documentary on 1980’s photographer Tseng Kwong Chi, known for his Expeditionary Self-Portrait Series a.k.a. East Meets West, a mockumentary of sorts.
Kwong Chi takes self-portraits posing in front of popular western cultural icons as a Chinese “Ambiguous Ambassador” in the classic Mao suit. He was based in New York and passed away aged 39 in 1990.
