The sun travels hour by hour throughout any given day, from east to west, from dawn to dusk, shining on everything under its path. It shines on anything natural, anything man-made, anything organic, anything inorganic, anything tall, anything short, anything wide, anything narrow, anybody rich and anybody poor.

What submerges in the pool of light and what surfaces from the stagnation of shadow are elements of any city. The rays of the sun has its own angles, volumes, deepness and shallowness. In one moment, shadows of people going about their daily routine strike as graphic impact of a vibrant city, in another moment multi-angle reflections from complicated geometrical patterns in a city suggest that we live in margins of asphalt structures. All in all, when light hits, it reminds us what we are surrounded by and what we become aware of.

  4. This is wonderful work, I thoroughly enjoyed viewing the essay. I really believe that shooting shadow and contrast is much more difficult than many photographers realise but you do it superbly forming a very nice and coherant body of work.
    Thanks for showing it.
