Photography in Asia today is more vibrant and dynamic than ever. But often times, great photographers and inspiring work in Asia remain invisible and shy of deserved attention.

We produced the inaugural Invisible Photographer Asia awards program to recognise and spotlight excellence in photography practice in Asia. After many rounds of deliberation and judging with our panel of 9 distinguished judges, we have reached one step closer to the final results of our inaugural Awards.

Across our 3 award categories – Photo Book, Street Photography and Photo Essay – we now have 42 top finalists representing stories and photographs from 17 countries in Asia. These countries include: Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Burma, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mongolia, Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey, and Vietnam.

It is encouraging to see many new names and stories that we have never seen before. It is also most encouraging to see return finalists who have supported our previous Street Photography Contests.
