Block 28

Block 28, Toa Payoh Lorong 6 was a 20-storey block of two-room apartments. The government rented the units out to needy families. Each unit was shared by two families. Each family occupied one bedroom and the kitchen and toilets were shared. In April this year, the tenants were given notice to move out, with the building earmarked for demolition. I visited the building in its last days of occupation, and pieced together an image of the lives this building used to contain from the remnants I find.
