What is street photography?

There are many definitions and non-definitions. We generally recognise Street Photography as a loose, evolving practice and method of photography that borrows the straight documentary approach. Scenes and subjects are photographed mostly candid and un-staged in public spaces. The intentions are to make personal comments or emotional remarks. Street Photography, at it’s best, are like Haikus – concise and poetic descriptions of everyday occurrences.

  2. Hi,

I have been living in South Korea for nearly 2 years, but have pictures from other countries in Asia that I have traveled to during those 2 years. Can I submit pictures from any Asian country even if I didn’t live in that country for longer than 6 months? Or are images strictly limited to the country you live in?

    Thanks!

140MB is way, way over. The files should not be that big. There is no need to submit full resolution.
You need to optimize and submit images with a medium to high quality compression.

      Thanks

  11. I wish to submit photos that I took using my Samsung Galaxy Note 2. However, I found out that the image is 3264 by 2448 pixels, 72dpi. In the terms and conditions, shortlisted finalists must submit original high-resolution files (300dpi) of submitted work and images on request to qualify for prizes. Would resizing the 72dpi image to 300dpi upon submission eliminate you from the competition?
