Young Photographers and their first Projects in Vietnam at the IPA Editing Workshop
On Friday 24th January 2014, we held an IPA Editing Workshop at Manzi Art Space, Hanoi for young Vietnamese photographers working on their first or second photo projects. The workshop was mentored by Kevin WY Lee and Hai Thanh and attended by participants from cities across Northern Vietnam, including Bùi Quý Lượng, Đỗ Bá Nam, Nguyễn Thu Hương, Nguyễn Thanh Nga, Phạm Bá Lĩnh, Hoàng Tấn Ngọc, Nguyễn Thủy Tiên, Trương Tuấn Dũng, and Dương Hài Cốt.
The variety of projects were as diverse as the background of each young photographer. Hoàng Tấn Ngọc, a young wedding photographer in Da Nang presented his personal project on a family in a nearby village where there was an oddly high number of mental disability. Dương Hài Cốt, a tour guide in Nha Trang, presented a project on a community living in waste-filled village. Hài Cốt also participated in the IPA Street Photography Workshop. Nguyễn Thủy Tiên, an university student, presented a personal meditation on identity using performance art and photography. Hanoi-based freelance photographer Trương Tuấn Dũng presented his meditative series photographed at the famous Hung River in Hanoi.
Here are some highlights from the workshop.

Hi, do this photographers have websites or any link to show their work?
thx
The image of the portraits of people in the bathroom is not by Nguyen Thanh Nga. That series was made by Nguyen Thu Huong. Can you make that correction? I’m sure both photographers would appreciate it.
Many thanks and great job with all you do!
