Definition (Merriam-Webster): a crossing of a highway and another way (as a road or railroad) at different levels; also : the lower level of such a crossing
I am intrigued by the spaces beneath our underpasses.
In Singapore where space is a premium, these are swathes of isolated pockets of unused spaces or are they?
I prefer to explore these places in the absence of people.
In the absence of people, i wonder what goes on in these spaces, who are the “owners” of these spaces?
Are these spaces ultilitarian in function or a sanctuary where people return. A public space or a private space?
Or are these spaces claimed by spirits or the indomitable spirit of nature?
As i explored the places, the reality seems to fade away and the imaginary world takes over.
Welcome to the realm of the underpass.
