Serangoon Singapore as it is

Folklore says that this area got its name from a small marsh bird called Burung Ranggong. Serangoon, as it is called now, has been a second home for me lately. Having moved here from Indonesia since 2009 to pursue my dream, i was not really bothered about Serangoon. Until one day, I began to observe moments of daily life, that i could relate to back home – life in Serangoon began to unravel itself.

At that point, i knew that i had to do something. I was not a photographer, yet it led me to make a documentation about Serangoon with an immediate photographic tool – my own mobile phone. Now, this is Serangoon of today, photographed in ways that i knew and expressed, in ways that i have experienced…each day.
