Black Nazarene

A solid mass of humanity awaits the feast of the Black Nazarene every 9th of January, considered one of the most spectacular religious events that takes place in the Philippine Calendar.

Every year, thousands of devotees from all walks of life – barefoot and garbed in maroon tops – come to carry, touch and take part in the procession as a way of strengthening their faith and fulfilling their vows to the Lord.

Talking about faith, or keeping the faith, is like trying to grab a fish in the water with one hand. It is not necessarily something that is rational. It is a very elusive concept.
