Introducing IPA Labs – our new distance learning and collaboration initiative

Since 2011, we have produced onsite photography events and workshops in Asia including Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam and Indonesia. We now have a workshop alumni of over 300+ participants and have awarded over 25 IPA Scholarship Grants to young photographers in Asia.

We have however been getting a lot of requests for a very long time to hold events and workshops in other cities in Asia, especially for those we have yet to visit with our Photo Camps and workshops. This isn’t always possible as we have a very small modest team, with very limited resources. We’ve thought long and hard on how to tend to these requests in the meantime, and are now finally ready to introduce IPA Labs – our new distance learning and collaboration initiative.

IPA LABS – participate in an IPA Workshop
and Program anytime, anywhere!

IPA LABS is a new distance learning workshop initiative by Invisible Photographer Asia (IPA) to provide photography exchange and development through the use of technology and the Internet. Programs in the initiative are extensions of our traditional on-site photo workshops taught across cities in Asia, but for participants where geographical location and/or time may be a constraint. You can now participate in an IPA workshop or program at your own pace and place.

First in our IPA Lab Programs, the IPA Personal Project Development Lab is for participants looking to pursue and/or develop personal photography projects in a guided and collaborative environment, mentored by IPA Lab Leaders. The primary focus of the lab is to incubate, ignite and collaborate – think of Lab Leaders as spark mentors and collaborators. The program will identify and strengthen personal vision, improve visual literacy, and nurture visual story-telling and crafting through photography.

IPA Personal Project Development Lab is open to photographers of beginner to intermediate levels wishing to pursue photo projects of any genre: Street Photography, Documentary Photography or Contemporary Essays.

Who is IPA Labs for?

IPA Lab programs are conducted via the online/internet platform and are best suited for motivated, independent photographers who are serious about personal growth, but may not be able to attend our on-site workshops due to time and/or location constraints.

IPA Personal Photo Project Development Labs are on-going bi-monthly programs commencing first week of each alternate calendar month.

The first IPA Personal Project Development Lab is now accepting in-take and commences 1st week of November 2013.
