Memories of Grandfather
I learnt four years ago that my father had stage 3 lung cancer. It was tough news to break, and a very emotional one, to everyone in my family. He was 65 years old at the time and had only begun to enjoy life as a grandfather with my 3 year old son and 1 year old daughter.
In 2014, I saw a severe decline in my father’s physical health after years of battle against cancer with various radiation and chemotherapy treatments. It dawned on me that his time on earth should not be taken for granted. I started photographing my father. I wanted to etch into the memories of my children the love their grandfather had for them.
On December 21st 2015, I made the last photograph.
