BANGKOK Haiku – Street Photography
from Asia’s City of Angels
Street Photographs are like Haikus, concise and poetic descriptions of everyday occurrences. The photographer employs this method of photography to observe daily public life, where his/her muse is, most often, the common man and his banal environment. The intentions are to make personal or emotional remarks. In that sense, street photography is a means to an end, and not an end in itself.
This collection features a selection of Haikus photographed by the participants of the IPA Street Photography Workshop in Bangkok, 11-14th July 2013. During the intensive 4 day workshop, the diverse group of participants from Thailand and beyond explored street photography from practical assignments through to curation, editing and presentation. This workshop was led by Kevin WY Lee, founder of IPA.
